Yes, I think it's very sensible. Less whoopsies for us though!!!Val.0

This is an absolute disaster.
I rely on the reduction bins to get enough food to live so will now starve - thanks Government.0 -
i just read this too, I still think the 'best before' dates will cause more waste and that education is the only real way forward!
Lets hope that the shops will reduce items 24 hours before the 'use by' dates, so that the whoopsie bin is still a great way to shop

Aw, gutted. It's sad, but that was my first thought too - less opportunities for grabbing a bagain
much work to be done - new sig coming soon...0 -
The whoopsies will still be around - "use by" and "best before" will continue to be used. I've got whoopsied hummus in the fridge - it's got a "use by" date like all fresh stuff has. The chicken and fish in my freezer have "use by", the cheese, also now in my freezer, has "best before".
If shops are using "sell by" and "display until" for stock control purposes they will still want to have some form of stock control coding on packets and that new coding system will be used to send stuff onto the whoopsie shelves. It might actually encourage discounts instead of firms like Sainsbury's offering small reductions then binning loads of stuff because of its coding."Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0 -

Not really, shops will still have to reduce things in order to rotate new stock & it doesn't affect items like meat, cheese, fish ect so they'll still be reduced as normal0 -
No this is the end of reductions.
All it will mean is that Supermarkets keep things at full price when they are past their best. So look forward to buying stuff, at vastly inflated prices, only to take it home and it be vile.0 -
