Child benefit

Hi All,
I'm looking for some advice on our sons child benefit, he's just turned 18, and is about to start an apprenticeship with his local college, they tell me it's a programme led apprenticeship, for which he will receive £95/week, he does not have an employer, but will go out on placement with a local company, so I suppose the college are his employer. Does this class as approved training, meaning we will be able to continue claiming child benefit for him.
Many thanks, all help gratefuly received.

When my son did his ICT apprenticeship - at an ICT academy - he was paid £100.00 a week & I was told that we no longer qualified for child benefit or ctc for him.
