What about contacting Age Concern or who ever it is these days.
An 89 year old will have more care needs than an average person,
It may have been nice and warm to get a suntan for you Merlin, but i expect your not 89 years old and feeling the cold in the evening.
I would love to sit out in the garden but seeing as i am in the middle of a relapse the best i can do is go and collapse on the sofa0 -

For me it is too warm to put the heating, but everyone is different and older people who may have mobility problems feel the cold more. However the government set the targets and the councils have to meet them.0
