DVD/TV 9.2 screen-no reception.

I hope someone can help me, please.

I have just bought a combined 9.2 screen DVD/ digital TV, on E bay, new, as I work away from home and thought that the built in Freeview would be useful to use in the hotel room which usually have only 4/5 channels(Travelinn e.g.)

I tried to tune it in using the aerial provided which proved useless, I bought a powered digital aerial which again did not work.

I live in an apartment which has a digital satellite and I used the aerial lead into the player, and it received over 30 channels perfectly
I intended to take the powered aerial with me but it will be a waste of time, if the hotel I stay in cannot receive digital, it will be a waste of time using their TV aerial, so what can I do?

Return the unit for a refund, although in a certain situation, the unit does work, so they may not refund me, but as the unit is advertised as portable, if it does not work where I want it to, what use is it?
