Help please, santander paid my money into someone else's account

Today my hubby went to our local santander branch to pay some money into our joint account, he handed over his debit card and cash, he got a receipt and came home.

When he got home he realised that the receipt was for someone else's account! We have checked our bank balance and the money has not gone into our account. Hubby rang the bank and has been told that it has gone into the wrong account but they cant do anything over the phone, so now the hubby has to go back to the branch :mad:.

I am presuming the lady at the branch didn't swipe our bank card correctly and the money has gone into the account of the person who was last there.

Would i be correct in thinking we will definitely get our money back and also does anyone know how long it could take? we are due to go away in a few days and we need to pay bills before we go.
