Even if you can't charge her rent you should make her pay keep. Keep would cover water, electricity, gas (if not all electric), food (if you want to provide it otherwise she will have to buy it herself - making her buy her own food would make it less easy to live with you) as well as other things you may have like internet useage, phone useage etc.OK, my daughter has admitted she is right in the poo, so she will be living with me. I'm planning to make life a lot less easy than she thought it would be. I can't charge her rent (local authority won't pay it as we're related) so there are some jobs I've got lined up for her to do, painting, gardening, carpet cleaning...
JSA for her age is £53.45/week - I would say at least £20/week of that should be for you in form of keep. She would still have £33.45/week to buy food if you do not include food (I would advise you not to as doing so would make her more relient on you!), bus tickets, everything job hunting related etc which is plenty. Even if she has a mobile contract/PAYG it is plenty.
You should charge her keep as well as getting her to do chores. You are doing her a favour letting her move back in and she should be greatful so paying a small amount of keep and doing some chores is not too much to ask.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy

Thanks everyone.
She's been unemployed for nearly 5 years now. She's been sharing with a friend but they are up to their eyeballs in debt. I enquired what happened to the deposit but they have been told they won't get it back due to condition of the flat (they are due out in 2 weeks). She hasn't elaborated but I can imagine the state its in. Likewise the months rent in advance is gone as they're a month in arrears. So I'm hiring and van and helping her move (as in, I'm doing it all and paying for it).
Once she gets here I'll have extra council tax to pay as well as extra bills so I'm thinking between £20 and £25 a week, and she buys her own food. She also won't have access to the front room which has a lock (so no sky).
I've given her a hint of whats coming and she's not impressed. I wish I'd been harder on her when she was younger but hindsight is useless, isn't it.
