Very confused over Hsbc offers

Hope someone can offer some advice about this

On Friday I received a letter from Hsbc upholding my complaints for my six loans. They offered £3266.67, I had an acceptance letter which I sent back straight away to the Salford address. This letter was signed by a Clive Williams senior manager, regulated sales complaints. I also had a sheet with all the working outs. The letter is dated 7/9/11

So I was just waiting for a letter with an offer for my cardholder protector on my cc.

So letter received today dated 10/9/11

The letter states that they uphold my complaints for my 6 loans again, same ones in the first letter. And this one is referencing the cc.

This time they offer me £3745.78, but states they can't refund the cc as they have no records as over 6 years old. The letter Is signed Michael mcenery regulated sales complaints officer, and it's a real signature not a computer one. I also had an acceptance letter, which I have signed and sent off, but this time its going to Bristol

Question/confusion is, what is going on? Do I get the £3266 or the £3745 or both? I can't imagine I will get both. Has anyone else had similar happen?

Sorry for the long post :)

thats a tricky one panda i would be inclined to phone them on the contact number at the top or bottom of the letter, ascertain what they are going to pay and don't sign anything until your sure what your signing if your happy to accept whichever offer they are going to pay, accept it, get the money in your bank, then subject access request them for the cc details, don't let this go as i think they are giving you a load of bull.

HI again panda i would threaten them with the fsa as well, that might change there attitude a bit.
  • With the credit card it is over 6 years since it was closed. Nov 2004 it closed, mind they were able to give me the policy number over the phone. I only have one statement showing it on there, threw the rest away years ago
