Failed my first driving test today

I was so nervous, I had 4 majors and 2 minors! I clipped the curb the minute we set off, then changed lanes when it was dangerous and In the process got myself 2 majors and then signalled left and turned rght!

I was shaking like a leaf, just wish I could have held it together

Nerves are normal, but really they need to be long gone before you touch a road on your own. So you just have to keep at it and don't over think it too much.

  • Nerves are natural. The more practice you get the better you will get. You can't be any worse than 'Maureen' from 'Driving School' from years ago. Now she was lethal behind the wheel!

    Keep at it! ;)

The first time pass rate is only about 44% so you are not alone. Just get some more practice before the next test. As others have said, the more comfortable you are with the basic driving functions the more time you have to concentrate on the road ahead and what is going on.

All the best drivers pass second time. :p
  • You know what to expect next time, that'll help loads.
  • Exactly like me
the first time, really really nervous, somthing like 9 minors and a major (stauled in the middle of a road)

second time, not so nervous and pretty confident,6 minors and a stupid mistake (pulled out in front of a car and have no idea why, nerves)

Third time, nervous but calm and must have went to the loo about 10 times, 4 minors and I PASSED and only just got my driving leicence today, 6 weeks late as they cocked up my application. I would have failed as I indicated too early on a dual carriage way, as soon as I saw the sign for the turn off instead of waiting for the count down signs, (as to why i have no idea, nerves) but said to the examiner oops I wasnt supposed to do that I do appoligise and at the end he said he would have failed me if I hadnt said. He kept on asking me what i do on the weekend, what i would do if I wasnt on my test...I felt like saying blooming heck this a test not a date hehe but my inctructor said he did it on purpous to relax me
