Lidl are currently selling a huge cycle pannier. Always worth a trip there at the weekend to grab their extra cheap offers.
Could you get one or two evenings a week work in a local pub, supermarket or garage. Saves on heating and if stuff is going cheap you get first dibs.Truth always poses doubts & questions. if not look on ebay see if there is anything local.
Do you have a friend who drives? perhaps suggest going to lidel/netto/etc (somewhere you couldnt normally get to) once a month. Ask around see if friends have company shops they can go to see if they would mind if you came.
B&m have cheap throws / fleeces etc0 -
For keeping warm indoors forget a dressing gown, just layer up. I spent last winter in 4-10C wearing 2-3 base layers, a jumper, tights and/or leggings, joggers, socks and gloves. If there is a uniqlo near you may be able to get sale flannel shirts, thick pijamas and thermal bits still. Otherwise Asda do fantastic cheap bits.
If you are okay with charity shops then look there and jumble sales for wool clothes, even if they look ugly you will be too toasty warm to care :j
As you have insulation and radiators you shouldn't need an extra heater. If you do, keep most things to one room (your business, eating meals etc).
Do you have an SC? If so, use it where you are to provide extra heat.
You really are doing almost everything to keep costs down so well done!
Have you considered temporary christmas work? Lakeland, Entertainer, Argos etc are all hiring. Working full time for a few months could give you a burst of cash and get you out the house when it's cold.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
What about mystery shopping to make a little money or fund items you might see as luxuries on a limited budget? You could also buy things that would sell on ebay if you didn't need them. Check out the mystery shopping thread on 'up your income' section - its stickyed at the top of the thread. You will have to lay out for items initially but you will be paid regularly from the companies listed there. If you need any advice just pm me

I am not very good at links so I hope this works. This rug looks easy to make and only uses waste cloth. You can make it the size that you want and it will keep you busy for a few weeks.
Although my curtains are lined it is with very thin material, this winter I will be pinning fleece blanket to the back of my curtains to keep in the heat.Without overpayments: 15 years, 1 monthsBecause of overpayments: 10 years, 10 months left until paid off0 -
i think everyones suggested what i was going to suggest, but i would buy cheap ugg style boots instead of slippes, dunnes do them for £5 as do bargain books and i know asda had some cheap ones last year, there very cosy but not water proof so not great for when it snows outside
primark do fleecy jammies aswell as sleepsuits there about £7 and will be alot easier if you need to pee, if you think enough maybe look at kids clothes as they tend to be cheaper, i also find mens fleeces cheaper and i've been known to buy mens ones all the time or pinch my hubbys, keep an eye on ebay they tend to do 2 packs of hoodys/fleeces for £15 often
i wear boys socks it's £2 for 10 in primark yet it's £2.50 for 5 pairs of womens ones, i only relised they fit me when i accidently put my kids ones on, also mens sports socks are cosy for bed and alot cheaper than slipper socks
wear leggings under jeans which can then double up as jammies
i love my hot water bottle and it was only £2.50 from primak 3-4 years ago it's still going string and came with a fluffy cover, teh one i bought before that was £8 and i never use it
i had no heating for 3 years when i lived on my own (couldn't afford oil) i had a wee blow heater in my livingroom as it heated it up quickest a halogen one i used in there when it was really cold and also moved to my room when it was really cold, and 2 oil filled ones in my room, i would never buy oil filled ones in that situation again and highly recommend the blow heater as it heated the room quickly then i could jumper under a blanket and turn it off, i also highly recommend a single quilt for on the sofa, great if you have guests aswellDEC GC £463.67/£450

If you needed to earn a little extra money, and there was a call for it in your area, then Babysitting is an excellent way. You get to earn whilst sitting in someone elses warm house and watching their TV. Just stick a notice up in your local shop, and on the local board of netmums (costs nothing). An average evenings sitting should earn around £30.0
