Good luck with getting it all sorted out.
But as others have said, apply for housing benefit and council tax benefit. Also, don't be afraid to ask the University for help if you need it, I haven't been in that position yet, but it was made clear to me that they do want to help if they can

I'm confused. You call him your partner but say that you're practically housemates really with seperate bedrooms but were advised to claim as a couple because you'd get more money. Are you actually together in a relationship or not? (need a confused smiley)If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0

Have you claimed Housing Benefit and Council tax benefit?
If not, you need to contact your local council who are the ones who would deal with this. It might be best for your partner to claim for you both, rather than the other way around. :cool:0 -

I mentioned his mental illness and the fact he's claimed for ESA because of it. Because of his mental health, we have separate bedrooms because he needs his own space and somewhere to feel safe because of the anxiety.
I generalized it in terms of we're practically housemates, because of this reason. But yes we are in a relationship.0 -

it was my partner who made the whole income and housing claim for us both. Still rejected because of my student loan, unfortunately.0 -

Ah,that explains it,you done right by claiming as couple as had you done otherwise obviously it would've been fraudulent.
Hope you manage to sort something outIf women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -

A houseshare is where you rent a room (or more) in a house along with other people. This is what most students do, I believe.
