I listed something on the FLW 10 days ago and within a few hours got a question from someone asking whether they could collect if they won. I agreed and explained that I would expect cash on collection and if they preferred to use paypal then it would need to be sent as per the listing. They confirmed they lived a mile or two from me so could collect whenever was convenient

The next day there was a bid in on the item.

Got two more emails from them during the course of the auction asking me for my address and asking then for my telephone number and whether i preferred evenings or weekends for collection.

Item has now finished with the one opening bid, but when I've gone to send the invoice the winning bidder is not the same person or the same ID that was asking about collecton. They also live at the other end of the country- so not the same person

I fear there may be problems

You'd think that if they had mastered the intricacies of ebay messages they they would understand how to bid.

Someone sent me a message once when an item I had listed had finished and not been sold saying they had won the item and paid by PayPal. I told them my email from eBay said there was no winning bid and no payment had appeared in my PayPal account. I never heard from them again.

They may be working in London and want to pick it up because they are passing? It might be another account that they were using at the time? I have a couple of accounts, my original one, a second one I set up to sell tarot readings on but drifted on from that back into random personal items when the readings didn't take off in the way I'd hoped they might (I don't do fairy glittery stuff on my listings and that seemed to be the way those things sell) and I have the account I set up when that one got wrecked, plus my buying/posting ID.

Failing that, they may just have forgotten to bid; I've asked about collection before on something that was about six miles away on an easy bus route from the centre of Reading, and then looked at my budget and thought actually, no, hang on, can't afford that right now, so never bid.

    I wouldn't worry too much.

With respect - and I knew someone might say that - it doesn't work that way.

Cards need to be read - and whatever psychic vision really is, it doesn't work well when you have an emotional issue around the cards. When I'm reading for someone else - a stranger - it's not too bad, and I've had some good results - but if I read for myself ;) it's clouded by what I want from the situation, e.g. money.

If you do some basic research and put assumptions about psychic talents to one side, you'll find readings are advisory/brainstorming as much as they are predictions of the future. Many psychotherapists use them to work through issues with people, it doesn't mean they are completely psychic, it simply works a bit like a Rorschach test.

The basic trouble is that I am too down-to-earth when I read for people, I don't do all the magicky fairy stuff, as I said. People want the illusionary future stuff and overlook uses for "fortune-telling" which help people to explore issues in the present. I find it very sad, but there you go - there are a lot of misconceptions and if people would at least leave those sort of comments behind, people might get somewhere with an explanation.

LOL, I just realised - this thread is about trying to predict what a buyer might do or not...good luck, Soo, I don't read the cards much these days, but I could dust them off for you if you are interested!

I can only assume that bidder was so busy arranging the collection details that he forgot to place a bid. However the winner has now paid in full with delivery and item is packed and ready to be posted tomorrow.
