how far back can i claim for I had my card in 2002 and paid it off about 5 years ago can i claim back to 2002? or is it six year limit?

In theory you would be able to go back the whole way provided there is evidence both that the policy existed and that you would not have purchased it but for a fault on the part of the bank.

I went into branch gen query, and was offered the credit card, ask to sign here here, here. this was done on the mainfloor of the branch, (heavily pregnant on the twins). She did not ask if I wanted PPI. I called the customer care team when I got my first statement and advised them I did not want it, only to be told 'you have purchased the product, you cannot cancel it'.
