paypal advice needed

I have been an ebay user for a while but have never had a paypal account until now.
Just opened one and linked my bank account to it (no cards linked) my question is, can I buy when the paypal balance is zero, is the money then taken immediately by direct debit from the bank account?
Also now I have paypal I may try selling, I have 2 ebay accounts and have linked the email of both to paypal. Do I now also link the second account to paypal?
Thanks for any replies.

In answer to your first question, yes, you can buy without physically having money in your paypal account. Unfortunately as you don't have a card linked to it your payment will go through as an e-cheque which takes about a week to clear which some sellers don't like and means that you will have to wait longer for your item.0

If I link the debit card associated with my bank account will that speed things up or is it best to link my credit card?0 -

I've only got a debit card linked to mine and that works fine
