I need a tech genius

Options
And I know some of you are....

I am trying to find the old Corgi gas register. It used to be online but obviously since its changed to Gas Safe it is no more :(

My husband was on the Corgi register and if we cant find his ID number then we are screwed. With proof he was Corgi registered his gas course will be 5 days at £2000. Without proof he has to do 6 months free with an engineer but we cant do this as we have to feed and clothe our kids!!! Plus he will have to pay £3500 to resit.

Can anyone help? Advise? Anything? I know you are all brilliant at this tech stuff and I am not sure if this information can be found...but....if you dont ask then you'll never know.

Thank you xxx

I doubt if his old Corgi ID is relevant now, as he will have to prove to the Gas safe register that he has the relevant qualifications:
Gas Safe Register only accepts evidence of competence in gas safety such as:

    • National Accredited Certification Scheme for individual Gas Fitting Operatives (ACS)
    • ACS aligned National/Scottish Vocational Qualifications (NVQ/SVQ).

Evidence of competence must be less than five years old. It is essential that assessments are renewed in good time as it is a requirement of the Rules of Registration. Failure to hold current evidence may result in your removal from the Gas Safe Register.

I know you might not think this is helpful, but as the change over was over 2.5 years ago (a year later in N.Ireland) - how come you are only getting around to it now?

You don't have to post the answer here, but I would think that GasSafe might want to know, so you may need to get your answers sorted maybe?

Thank you but I can assure you that I have no need to get my answers sorted. Under no circumstances would he ever ever work unsafely.

Would also like to add that we found his old Corgi ID no and certificates. The reason we needed these was to prove he had worked with gas. Without this the ACS fees and work experience needed would have been totally prohibitive. With this he is now booked onto a course for the first week in October. Thank you.
