  • Yep, I was hyperventilating handing over the first one, and as for doing my first RnR, I was so wired I walked off without taking the food! Luckily the SA called after me - and I just mumbled something about 'oh I didn't realise I got to keep the food too' . Anyway made me seem more authentic - that's what I'd like to think!

I still get panicky now, even an hour or so before the actual shop, I really shouldn't work myself up but I just had them over and look the other way, it usually does the trick, but the problem with me is I go red very very easily so I always look like a beetroot at the tills
  • i still dont like to goto McDonalds with the vouchers, send the gf in:rolleyes:

Yes I still get nervous, and there never is any money in my wallet only coupons.
I used so many coupons in November and December, I almost got paranoid and would get butterflies before going in.
Now I'm back to normal shopping, and all the assistants seem to have been 'trained' on coupon acceptance, so I am shopping little and often.

I've bailed loads of times, I still have lots of the somerfield £5 off vouchers from pre chrimbo, I managed to use them on my big christmas shop, but every time I find a till assistant who looks like they will take them, they wont!

  • Nope. Why worry? The worst thing they can do is refuse!

I have no shame when it comes to saving money. :D
  • Nervous, never!

I just smile at the cashier and say “can you check these for me please”. Sometimes they all go through and sometimes they don’t.

If your not in a hurry just do some of your shop and put it the car and go back and do the rest with your left over vouchers.

I love to get in a good strop particularly if I’ve bought the item and the voucher won’t scan, "can you get the supervisor please" I ask. Don’t arf upset the ten people behind me and gets the supervisor in a right old tizz I can tell you.

Never be afraid, if they didn’t want you to use these vouchers they’d stop them wouldn’t they! Mind you my other half visually shrinks in to his size nine shoes when I throw a strop with them.

Most of the staff at Tesco have no idea of company policy nor do the customer services or their so called supervisors (glorified nobody’s)!

As good old Mr Jones in “Dad’s Army” used to say, “They don’t like it up em”!

  • I also get nervous especially when I get to the till and realise that if they do knock me back on all my coupons I'm not actually going to have enough cash to cover it! It's quite rare they refuse them all, but sometimes they hand one or two back and make up some nonsense rule about why that particular type isnt accepted. I just put them back in my pocket and say "no problem, thanks"
