Odometer light gone out

They won't check it on the MOT, so dont worry about that as long as the dials are still visible in daylight.
Worth getting it fixed though, probably just a bulb. Google "replacing instrument bulb in Vectra" and I'm sure they'll be advise on how to change it. Although I warn you, taking dashboards apart can be a nightmare on some cars and easy on others...my fingers are crossed for you!0 -
Is it just the one light or the whole instrument panel? You obviously won't know unless you turn on the headlights (which is why I ask at this time of year), if they're all out then it's likely a fuse (the same one that controls the glove box and tailgate light) and you can save yourself the hassle of digging around behind the instrument panel.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Sorry i'll be more clear in answering your question OP.
It is NOT an MOT failure.0 -
Can you still read the mileage to put on the MOT though?
If could be a "test abandoned" otherwise.0 -
The speedometer is not tested in the MOT so it will pass fine (though no doubt you will be graced with an advisory). It is a Vectra though and not a difficult one to fix.0

They will still be able to read it in some ligts. Or by shining a torch on it.0

Actually I don't know if it's even technically an LCD, but digital would be more appropriate.
How can it be read if the lights have gone out, because surely it's only the bulbs in the display that make it display..? Sounds like a nifty trick though if you can.
...unless your car has done 88,888 miles0 -
