Group 1 ISOFIX Car Seat?

I'm going to pick up my new car tomorrow! :j

It has ISOFIX as standard and so I'm looking to buy a new car seat for my DD. She's 21 months old.

I've seen on the forums elsewhere a while back that the Britax Duo (or something like that) is the best one but I'm confused.

An ISOFIX car seat might be £140 but you can also buy it with ISOFIX for £220. What on earth are they on about? Do I need to buy somethnig else apart from the seat?

Also, I'm buying a BMW 1 Series, are there compatibilty issues with car seats?

I have a 6 year old too - is he still okay with just an ordinary booster seat still or are there ISOFIX ones too?

So many questions! I'm so clueless! I hope someone knows more than me! :o

    Hi Doozergirl

the Britax Isofix Duo for nearly every cat in the UK, but according to Britax's own site, if you have a BMW 1 Series then you need an extra piece of foam.
The price of a Britax Duo Isofix seat varies from place to place, Kiddicare will sell you one for £129.97 (which TBH, is a very fair price) and this will do for 9-18 kg or approx 9mths to 4 years.

Regarding your 6 year old, the booster seat issue all relates to weight of your child. I bought this Jane Indy Plus Team seat for my son, which is a group 1,2,3 seat from age 3 to 11 (15 kg upwards). The advantages being that it has an Isofix base (very rare for this type of seat), has masses of adjustment to make it comfy, and if you WANT to, you can remove the back and make it into a booster. But the seat looks that stylish, your daughter may prefer to use it as a seat rather than as a booster. It is compatible with a 1 Series and costs about £100 from places like this.
Just be sure to buy the Indy Team Plus seat as this has Isofix, rather than the Indy Team seat that doesn't. Also, the Jane website shows the latest colours that are available.

    Hope that I've helped
