buyer won't pay but won't cancel transaction, what do I do next?

I sold an item last week and the buyer hasn't paid. It's now been six days since the sale. I am going away tomorrow and wanted to post all my sales before I went. I have tried to contact buyer several times to ask if they still want it, no reply. I have then contacted the buyer to request a cancellation of the transaction, they have refused this but still haven't paid. I don't know what to do next as I am going away for ten days so if they pay for it during this time (unlikely but possible) I won't be able to send it. They are from a foreign country so their English may be poor. They have a zero stars rating so I presume they are either new to Ebay or buying from a new account, possibly due to problems on an existing account. Not sure what to do next.

Can you leave it with someone to post if it gets paid?
If they've refused a cancellation then if-when they pay they will expect their item quickly.0 -
I don't understand why they've refused the cancellation but still have not paid or replied to any of my messages. I can't leave with someone else - besides I don't know if I can get online where I am going so won't even know if she has paid. shall I just message to say if she still wants it I am away until x date but will post on my return? Not sure what else I can do.0

You can't, if a cancellation is refused you can't then open a NPB against them.
If you can't leave it with someone or get to an internet cafe then there's not a lot you can do, contact them to say that you won't be able to pay until whenever you're back.
If they pay while you're away you may be out of time for Paypal seller protection.
It's always best to make sure that you give enough time for NPB's before you go away. I'd also leave time to post & know that everything's ok when it arrives.0 -

You can't get your fees back as buyer has refused the mutual.
You are in an extremely difficult situation as basically have no where of going anywhere with this. If buyer pays then obviously you can still refund and refuse to sell (and risk a neg) and even if buyer doesn't pay they can still leave you a neg, plus you've got your fees to pay and no relist credit.
I have no useful suggestions at all, but I think I would go on holiday and forget about this. The absolute worse that can happen is a neg and a non performing seller complaint- and in reality as long as you sell a few things every month even a neg won't be the end of the world and certainly not worth spoiling your holiday worrying about.
For future reference though, end all sales a full 9 days before you go on holiday or alternatively for shorter holdiays it is worth risking a neg by explaining to late payers that posting will be after xx date and not risking a mutual.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Op, if a buyer doesn't respond or pay then a NPB is the way to get your fees back not a mutual. As you did it wrong, you are stuffed.0

I thought a week would be enough! Seems the world is so stacked against the ebay seller these days you can't even go on holiday! I will contact her and let her know the score. I don't know if she understands english very well, or how ebay works. In which case I'll probably end up with a neg of some sort. Ho-hum. I only ebay occasionally now, too much hassle.0 -

Sorry soo, hit return and had to add the edit, so apols.
Op. Get real, you are going on holiday, you chose when to list. It's not eBay being prohibitive. Clearly you don't know how eBay works. Buyers in effect get 8 days to pay. It's no secret.0 -

I thought a week would be enough! it depends what you thought it was long enough for as a full NPB takes 8 days from date of sale to complete. Although I get hardly any non payers I do still make sure i leave those 8 days free before holidays, just in case as it sod's law (am I allowed to say that?) that the only time you get a slow buyer is when you are in a hurry to post.
Ebay is really only hard if you make it hard, and unfortunately by not understanding the system you have cost yourself money. Hopefully item wasn't too expensive though so the FVfs arent bad.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
