HELP!!!! benefits nightmare alert!

My partner is currently recently unemployed, he applied for JSA and he isnt entitled to it as his NI contributions are not enough and as I am receiving SMP our income is too high.

I have, since he has been told he isnt entitled, finished my maternity leave but am taking my annual holiday before i go back to work so when i get paid at the end of this month I will get my usual full time wage. When i go back to work next month, my hours will be changing from 37 to 16, which obv then affects everything again.

So technically, I will only be working part time, but at the minute im still classed as full time i assume even though im not actually there, or am i? This is a nightmare! I need to tell HMRC my mat leave has finished, but then my wages arent going to be what i receive in my next pay.

Is there anything else we might be entitled to in the short term? we already get housing/council tax/child tax credit but its all based on my SMP so ive got a gap of a month where everything changes twice and we will be left really short as we are missing his wages.

I hope this makes some kind of sense, any advice at all would be fab, Thank you.

if you earn more than £105ish a week, your partner will not be able to claim anything.
but you should be getting child tax credits and housing benefit/lha and council tax benefit because of your low income
