Currys

I've had a ruck with Currys over a monitor I brought. It came with no cables, which its meant to. Travelled in total 76 miles between 2 stores trying to sort everything out, and I have to travel a further 20 miles to take this monitor back. I have left messages for managers to call me back, they never have. So, today I spoke to a guy called Simon at customer services. He was ever so helpful - the only good thing about all of this! - and he's sorted everything out for me, said he tried talking to someone at the store but couldn't so "spammed them with emails" - his term not mine, although it made me laugh! - to tell them what had happened and that I would be coming down for either a refund or an exchange, whichever I wanted, and if I had a refund, for the monitor to be in a sealed box.

Anyway, late this afternoon, the manager from this certain Currys store called me back and said that there was none in stock still in sealed boxes. There were 2 in, both on display. Now, the store isn't that big, god knows why they need 2 on display but thats besides the point. He asked if the monitor was in pristine condition, I asked him to clarify - I don't have the box and I told the guy at customer services this - he said without any scratches or anything. I replied explaining there was no marks or anything like that on the monitor. His reply was: "We'll see when you come in shall we?"
At that point, I saw red. I didn't want to say something I'd regret so I said: Thanks, bye! and hung up without him saying anything. I called back a couple of minutes later and asked for his name. They woman I spoke to wouldnt give me his surname as apparently "theyd know hwo I meant!" I left it, couldnt be arsed to argue about it. Soon after, this "Adirain" called me back asking why I was after his surname. I explained that I was disgusted with how he spoke to me. He explained it wasn't what he meant, so I informed him I didn't care how he meant it, its not what he said. I've worked in customer services all my working career (Its admittedly only 6 years but I'd be surprised if he had more experience with customers) and that I wouldn't dream of tlaking to a customer like that. He laughed it off and was going on about how its not how he meant it. I was just repeating myself about how its not what he said, then said: I have things to do, I'll pop down when I can seeing as your store is out of my way. Bye. Hung up again.

Thing is, he knows I don't have the box, so I reckon he's hoping I'll scratch it in the car on the way down there, then I don't have to get a refund. Little does he know I'm planning to take it down strapped to the back seat, wrapped up in loads of pillow cases/douvet covers/bubble wrap! :rotfl:

I'm sitting here fuming about about this "manager" and reckon I should complain about him too. For a manager, its disgusting to treat people like that.

Oh, and for those who don't know. Currys, PC World and Dixons are all owned by the same people. I've had a few rucks with PC World too, however I usually mess with the assistants if I'm bored to see if I know more about the product than them! :rotfl:

Anyway, after all that, can anyone recommend me a store where I can buy a BLACK 19" Wide screen TFT monitor from that isn't Currys/PC World/Dixons? :rotfl:
