Elderly dog feeling the cold

have you tried having her wear a jacket? i have an http://www.equafleece.co.uk/store/index.html and it keeps her really warm.
vetbed also keeps them really warm as well.
I swear by equafleeces and mine wear them indoors in the day if I don't want the heating on.Nesting things imo don't keep dogs warm unless they can get under them.
I do think its cold however and my heating is on overnight.:beer:0 -
Have you tried an old duvet in her box or in the room with you? Or even a sleeping bag? Our 2 love to nest in them both!Failure is only someone elses judgement.
Without change there would be no butterflies.
If its important to you, you'll find a way - if not, you'll find an excuse ! ~ Easy to say when you take money out of the equation!

Dunno about dogs, but I need to be warm and cushioned when my arthritis is playing up. She's getting on a bit - is she feeling a bit stiff and achey, perhaps? It doesn't matter what the thermometer says or whether I can actually afford the gas bill if I feel like I've run a marathon as soon as I wake up - I still need warmth to get moving.
So I think I would be looking at getting a heated pad, a memory foam type mattress for her bed and a fleecy coat to wear for autumn/winter.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

I've seen the vet chasing mutt round the room trying to get one of these near her rear end while her tail clamps firmly to her undercarriage and she scarpers at speed. Not something to try at home, I don't think. Although it could win me £250 on you've been framed.
Thanks for all the suggestions, the consensus is seemingly that I am a bad (albeit money saving) owner with a poor long suffering mutt! Unfortunately anything in her box other than vetbed on top of what she already has is a non-starter due to her destructive tendencies. Off to try her with a jumper before I splash out on a doggy fleece. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

Absolutely not! If you were a bad owner you wouldn't be asking for advice! Why do dogs make us feel so guilty (or kids)!!:)0 -
I think it's maybe an old dog thing - I've got the same problem .....
