Paypal refund, How long does it take?

I bought an item from a seller who has lost the item. The seller has told me she has refunded me this afternoon. how long does it take to show on paypal?

• If the sender used their PayPal balance or bank account, the money will be refunded to their PayPal account balance
• If the sender used their credit or debit card, the money will be refunded to their card. This may take up to 30 days to appear on the card statement

From paypal help pages, so it depends on how you paid

Out of my paypal account, so I thought it should be instant unless the selller has no money in their paypal account and has to wait for it to transfer. Would it show as pending though?

I would have thought that you would at least have an emal from Paypal, I've never had a refund though.

This happened to me last week. It took about 3 days to be showing in my bank account, but 2 days to show on paypal as refunded.

Have checked emails and found a message from paypal saying I have been refunded. It isn't showing on my paypal account yet but at least I know its on its way.
