                    Hi
I've recently started working (5th September) and received two separate tax credit payments (both working and chid) - they don't add up to the amount I have been awarded, does anyone know how they're calculated?

It's probably an interim payment (which might be, say 5 days worth) rather than your regular payment. Have you had the award letter already or are you going on what they told you on the phone?0

Haven't received a letter yet. Was told over the phone, but the payment was paid into my bank on a different day to my usual day (I've been receiving CTC but have just claimed WTC)0

Yup - definitely an interim payment if it's not on the usual day. It won't be your regular payment.0
