Sony DCR-HC45E camcorder.

I have a Sony DCR-HC45E camcorder which I connected to my old computer running Windows7 using a firewire Ilink cable.
I bought myself a new computer and haven't used my camcorder for a while.
Just tried to transfer my holiday video to the new computer and as it does not have a firewire Ilink I connected using a USB cable.
It does not work, the camcorder is not recognised by the computer, so I contacted Sony and have just had their reply.

In regards to the query with your Sony DCR-HC45E not working.
You have to use an Ilink cable with this camera if you are using Windows 7 otherwise ti will not work.
