Rented property, not allowed to change supplier.

Can anyone help me decide which tariff to opt for please?

Family of 4, 2 adults home all day.

Electricity only, heating is by oil.

We're on the standard tariff just now, don't want to fix and be tied to anything as our situation will be changing at some point.

Am I right in thinking the tariffs which have no standing charges but a higher kwh charge are better for lower energy users? As we're home and using electricty more then we're better sticking with a lower kwh charge but with the standing charge too?

The NSC is better for high energy users as you get through the block of slightly more expensive units quicker and then all other units are at a cheaper rate. SC tariff is better for low energy users. Why not try the Fixed discount of an extra 2% off the bills?

Sorry but I don't understand. All units are the same price.

As said, we're not allowed to change regardless of whether they are the cheapest or not. :)

I just need to know which would be the best of their tariffs.

Who says that, and on what basis? Your utility supplier is no concern of your landlord. What they may do is prevent you fitting PPM meters.
To find the cheapest tariff (SSE or others) just put your annual kWh figs into a comp site-2 minutes work.
The NSC/SC issue is for most people a complete red herring-the difference will be pence.

It's part of the lease agreement.

But I very much doubt that it's enforceable.
Apart from that, how would your landlord even know?

It's a Church Of Scotland owned property, we're renting it short term (hopefully). It's not worth the hassle to potentially end up rocking the boat tbh.
