Custardy, where do I stand with unsigned for parcels being left by the postie in my front porch? I haven't said it's ok, and they're not even knocking to see if I'm in, just dumping and going. I'd much rather they left a card for me to collect from the sorting office as I do shift work and can be away from home for 24 hours, but it never seems to happenAll shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

they shouldnt be doing it
doesnt matter what it is
unless there is a safeplace instruction in place or on the package then delivery protocols dictate it should be carded for collection
many think they are doing people a favour
all they are doing is storing trouble for themselves
put a complaint in or if you like simply put a notice up to "P739" all packages for collection0 -

I've had this problem myself but in my case, the postie parcel guy can't seem to grasp I live in 'Court' & not 'Crescent'.
Following Custardy's advice I have now got it sorted out,it was that frequent that I have gotten to know the girl at 'Crescent' & take her parcels round if it happens.0 -
Custardy I wasn't casting doubt on the postie,I meant he was doing what he was told and it was probably more than his jobs'worth it just was funny and we all including said postie had a good giggle when I let myself into my neighbours house and he handed me the parcel.I appreciate there are folk out there on the make and it must be a difficult job sometimes.:)0

I had an issue when one of my neighbours claimed his parcel was at ours when the courier had added the wrong door number to the card left on his door mat. He then accused us of stealing it! I assume he found out the mistake later when he couldn't look us in the face but since then (having also had a baby!) I've put a sign on my door saying no couriers please and only take it off when I'm expecting my own delivery!0

I would just likje to make it clear
having delivered many parcels in my time
to the best of my knowledge i never caused anyone to have a baby through it0 -
If you have ordered a package, paid for, or agreed delivery, specified a delivery address, or drop off point, then it is the seller's responsibility to ensure that the package is "delivered" in accordance with the delivery Ts & Cs. Some require that a signature, the problem arises when the signature address is not that of the delivery address. if you the buyer don't receive your package from your neighbour, you have no obligation to go looking for it, and your recourse is to the seller to ensure delivery is made in accordance with the Ts & Cs. if you are the neighbour that decided to hold on to it for yourself, the seller can take action against you for theft or Unjust Enrichment. If you the neighbour made every attempt to deliver the parcel to the right address, but couldn't, you should make reasonable attempt to inform the seller of the failure to reach the intended customer, and advise them when and where to uplift the package. if after a reasonable period of time (dependant on circumstances) the seller makes no attempt to uplift, or otherwise retrieve, then you can lay claim to the item.HTWSSTKS0

I always takes parcels in for my neighbours as i also work from home. one of our neighbours is a teacher and is always away to work at 6am weekdays, now our postmand without thinking now just gives us anything for her that would go through the letterbox its the same with the RM delivery van that sometimes delivers parcels for her the driver (if the regular driver) will just leave them with us, sometimes he will leaver her a card but even if he does not we just take them to her in the evening.0 -
Got to be a joke with my neighbour, We used to get more of his post then he did. But he has taken parcels
in for us also.
Depends if you know and trust your neighbours, Old neighbours on the other side i wouldnt have trusted at all.
No way i would have taken parcels in for them, May have had the drug dogs sniffing around. Luckily they
didnt stay long.
New neighbours are gobby and abusive to each other, But they are quiet when i want to relax so ignore them.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
