Was a great programme - I didn't know you could arrang your own insurance on loans. I know it'll be on this site somewhere but I haven't managed to get through everywhere yet!
Oh, and Martin's a bit of a hottie isn't he? lol *wink*

Only one complaint, Martin, my TV has a volume control, if I want my ears to bleed I'll put it on max, no need to shout

Unfortunately missed it. but, I wrote to one of our creditors, a week before this programme went out, regarding this rip off insurance. I didn't realize that £4600 was added to a £15000 loan, this in addition to nearly £5000 interest making a total repayable of over £25000. It never registered until now, that the insurance and interest looked the same. I can't believe I was so stupid to miss this. A loan shark? No, one of the big names...Will post outcome! Lloyds TSB would not let me cancel when I asked to cancel on their loans. Is that legal?0

No, this insurance is OPTIONAL. They should have made that clear to you & if they did not, you were mis-sold the policy & you should ask for every penny back, including what you have paid so far. Write to them/Call them & ask for procedure to contact financial ombudsman if they do not refund.
I have just got a letter about my PPI & am getting over £2000 back, after a three month fight, so it can be done.
These policies are simply profiteering! BTW, decent PPI policies can be had at a fraction ( about 1/10th) of the cost from independant providers & I do not mean to diss these!Proud to be dealing with my debts :j
