Hi
I have been paying into a lifestyle repayment protection insurance for about 2 years now on a British Airways American Express Card.
The "lifestyle" element of the PPI pays your monthly balance for one month after a lifestyle event (birth, death, marriage etc)
At the time of taking it out (over the phone cold call) I already had Income Protection, Critial Illness and Death in Service which more than protected me. I was getting married at the time so agreed to take the insurance out. When the documents came through I realised that I couldn't claim for my wedding as it was less than 3 months since I took policy.
I haven't made a claim on this insurance and have been paying it for 2 years. Do you think I have a successful claim. I definitely felt pressurised to take insurance (cold called me to my work phone and asked me details on account balances etc - agreed to get them off the phone!).
Can't see any other successful claims against AmEx so would be interested to see if anyone has

Hi there
You can give it a go, there is no harm in trying, and if the policy does not suit your requirements, its then possibly worthless to you.
More on reclaiming below, good luck.

I've just had a rejection off AMEX for the lifestyle PPI.
They Said even though I was on a good wage, had good sick benefits, other insurance/critical illness cover in place and lived at home so could have had a family member cover the payments, they believe I still needed the cover.
Off to the FOS next.0 -
