Barclaycard Success - how long to wait for money ?

Hi

Last week had Barclaycard offer myself over £18k :j (woppee do - was only expecting around 4-5K) for my ppi on my Barclaycard. I returned the offer letter to them over a week or so ago.

Just wondering if anyone knows how long it takes for them to actually refund the money.

The banks are up against it at the moment with refunds,hang fire and hopefully it wont be too long.

I wouldn't hold your breath. I sent my acceptance forms back on 6th August and I still haven't had the money yet! I even had to send back a 2nd lot on 1st September because they lost the first lot. Rubbish!

I have had different answers from Barclays over the past month with regards to payments.... one said within 48hrs, one said within 2 weeks and another said within 30 days.... so who knows.

My last call to them was yesterday and they said it was 'in the final stages', acceptance forms were received and payment should be made within the next 2 weeks.

I first wrote to Barclay 11th July and they responded with a standard letter saying they would respond by 9th September. 9th September arrived and I received another letter saying it will take longer and they will respond by 4th November. NOT HAPPY with that time frame I wrote back 8 days to them to remind them they had 8 weeks from my initial letter to refund and are they avoiding paying out? At the same time I wrote to MBNA and they sent me a letter upholding my refund and saying that I will get a refund in the next 28 days from the date of their letter which was 1st September. Now why can't Barclaycard play fair? Probably because they know they have to pay out a large amount as I have had my account for YEARS. I will continue to hound them until they give me back my money
