Chrysler Voyager – a roof box and a bike rack.

Looking for an advice on a good value roof box (we are thinking about a full width family size one) and on a 3 bike rack (1 adult, two kids) for 2008 Chrysler Voyager 2.8 CRD Executive?


Also, where is a good place to get these from?

How much room do you have to store the box? Fitting them can be a pain, Make sure nobody fitting
it is wearing a belt or jeans. Same when loading stuff in and out.

Sisters old car got scratched to bits because of the roofbox. Scratches on the roof where they slipped a bit
and scratches on the side from belt buckles and the press studs on jeans.

I fit mine complete with the bars already attached, Some of the dealers say thats the best way also. But that maybe
an issue on a voyager due to the height.

So many choices, You need to decide how much space you need and dont forget to watch the weight on the roof.

Halfords are only usually competetive if they have a half price sale, Even then you still need to google the prices, Online
shop may have 10% off and still be cheaper than halfords 50% off. Handy if you need it now or need to see it in the flesh.

Bike rack? Towbar mounted, Roof or hatch mounted? I have a towball mounted one, Fots to any towball and is fitted in seconds.

Fold the arms forward, Place over the ball and open the arms sideways, Press the centre bar to lock, Done. Takes longer to write
than it does to fit it.

You may need a lighting board though if it obscures the lights or numberplate, £30 - £60 fine for that.



Not short of choice for either item.

And dont forget to pack a set of steps in the car to reach the middle of the roof box or to secure the middle bike.:rotfl:

Agree with this car of car I would opt for a towbar type bike rack. This would also give you the option later of using a box trailer for luggage with bikes mounted on top of trailer.
