Best Western & Club Card Vouchers

 Sorry, just needed to vent about this one, I joined the forum last week and have been browsing until now.
The other half and I decided we would have a weekend break away and as we had a load of club card vouchers that were about to expire, using them to cover the bulk of the accommodation costs seemed a sensible idea.
I checked out some Best Western Hotels in the areas we were interested in, found one we really liked that got a lot of very good reviews and to be on the safe side, called central reservations to make sure we could book our chosen weekend at the hotel with our vouchers. They said yes, there was availability, just get the vouchers ordered and we could make a booking once they arrived.
So, I ordered them.
Here we are a week later, I have the vouchers and I start by checking on-line that the hotel still has availability on that weekend, for the 'Leisure Break' tariff b&b, which is what the T&C's specify.
They do, so I call central reservations to make the booking.
But OH NO! Apparently, the hotel has no availability that weekend. So I ask when they have got availability. Nothing left for this year I am told. I explain that I have just checked on-line and they do have rooms available at the correct tariff as per the T&C's laid out by Best Western. Still I am told I can't have them, they only have so many rooms they can sell under the club card scheme and that hotel has sold all theirs, its a different tariff. Yes, seriously, she tried telling me that the "leisure break' tariff isn't the clubcard tariff even though thats what they specifically tell you to ask for when booking.
By this point I am less than happy, and point out that I was told a week ago that the hotel not only had rooms available for club card bookings, but had them on the nights we wanted. Was she telling me that suddenly they had sold ALL of them, up to Dec 31st?
Yes, thats what she telling me!
Anyway, my other half called the hotel direct and yes they have loads of availability that weekend. The receptionist was lovely and when we explained that we wanted to pay with our vouchers, she reserved us a room and said she would contact Best Western tomorrow and see what could be arranged. So still no guarantees we will get our break at the hotel we want, but at least it's better than the point blank refusal from Central Bookings. It is a crazy situation that has left me so flipping annoyed
So be warned, no matter how carefully you check, you may still not get what you want when trying to use club card vouchers with best Western.
