Hope someone can help me. I installed a web cam and downloaded Skype. Everything fine and was quite easy to do. However i find i cannot access Elements now or get my photos that are on a external drive. I have checked all the usb to make sure the connection is ok. I get a warning up saying" a usb has malfunctioned and has not been recognised " Ellements just will not load at all. Everthing was fine till i installed the web cam, but i don't want the bother of uninstalling as i am not really very good at all this. Any help would be appreiciated.Doesn't help i suppose that my dell is 7 years old, but a new one is out of the question till next summer.

I would do a system restore to before the webcam installation, get elements working again, then perhaps have another go at installing the webcam. I think it is either that or re-install elements. As your pc is so old, are you sure the webcam is compatible with it? Is there anything else malfunctioning on your pc?
I only say to a system restore as it may well be simpler than uninstalling the webcam. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Yes quite a few things have gone wrong now. can't do a selected start up in "msconfig ", tried the repair on elements in add and remove but doesn't recognise the CD for elements, it just seems out of sync now. Going through a few more things. Have been on to Logitech and waiting for a fella there that sent me an email. If all else fails i will have to uninstall and reinstall elements.
thanks for your help, I'm pretty hopeless at this.0 -
Have you tried plugging the external drive into another USB port? Or tried another USB device in the same port?
If the port has failed then you won't be able to see the external drive in My Computer. Can you?
If Elements is installed on your main C drive, then that is a separate problem. If it's on your external drive, then obviously it won't load.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
