Thank you MSE!

Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who participates in and posts on this site. For the past few months I have been a regular visitor and have learned so much. I am feeling particularly good tonight and really wanted to express my gratitude.

I ended up here by accident, can't even remember how, but after reading a couple of posts I totted up my total debt and realised I had a lot more than I'd allowed myself to acknowledge. I also had almost no savings in case of emergency - a potential for even more debt. All the simple result of being financially naive and irresponsible with money.

I haven't exactly moved mountains, but since I joined in March 2011, I have cleared a few thousand pounds of debt that I was only making tiny contributions to and I will be credit card debt-free by the end of the year. I will still have a final loan outstanding but hoping to clear that by the end of next year. More than anything, I feel great! I love looking at my spreadsheet, watching the debts slowly disppear. My financial life is so much richer (excuse the pun!) for knowing about how to make extra money, find bargains, avoid scammers and sharks, claim cashback, etc. I am nowhere near perfect yet but I no longer live beyond my means and have gained so much wisdom from the expert opinions and life stories shared on the forums. I am so impressed by everyone's efforts and blown away by what other's have achieved. I am also touched by how lovely everyone is. So helpful and supportive towards one another.

Who knew money saving was so exciting and rewarding?

Keep up the hard work! This site is an inspiration!
