Filberts/cob/hazel nuts
I have a huge pile of filberts/cobnuts/hazelnuts - call them what you will - in my garden, dropped from an overhanging tree in the disused orchard beyong the wall. Other than eating them as they are, are there any recipes I could use them in? It's free food and would hate to see them go to waste.

If you post this on Old Style I'm sure you'll get loads of answers.
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
OMG, my husband would be so jealous. His hedgerow hazel has three nuts this year

Its fine to have the occasional raw nut,- or I hope it is...we' ve always eaten them........ they are delicious and you can't buy them like that: which is one of the best things about growing your own or foraging: to have things as they grow. Otherwise roasting/toasting for a more familiar snacky flavour.0 -
If they have dropped, they may be empty. Despite the winds, my filberts are still on the tree, which being a MSE hazel, got rid of all its 'duds' about a fortnight ago.
