That will most definitely be really nice. Otherwise, there's a really nice Spanish restaurant called El Rincon de Rafa just off Deansgate- can't remember the street exactly. But the food's really authentic. It's not flashy or pretentious, just really good, honest food. And then you can go Cloud 23 cocktail bar in the Hilton after as it's just round the corner!0

Not been there, but Stock at the old Stock Exchange is lovely http://www.stockrestaurant.co.uk/app/
There's also Bem Brasil - but that's a bit louder and less "posh" (or has been when I went).Virtual Sealed Pot Challenge #148 - £59.93
Crazy Clothes Challenge # 103 - £84/£200 £30 Coat/£12 shirt/£23 jeans/£6 t-shirt/£13 2 x tops

I think it really depends what cuisine you're looking for. There is a very exciting Japanese restaurant called Sapporo Teppanyaki. Went there a few times and it never fails to dissapoint. A great theatrical experience. Great food topped off with lots of laughter. Make sure you take your camera/phone to record the unforgettable moments. Best enjoyed in a group of people you know.

For something a little more "up market" try Opus One @ the Raddisson. The restaurant itself oozes quality and the service was 1st class. The food was well presented, pleasing to the eye and VERY tasty. The menu has a quite different selection of options than most but is quite varied. The decor of the restaurant is quite modern and creates a nice atmosphere. From starters to desert the food was well presented and everything tasted perfect.0 -
Another nice Spanish restaurant is Evuna on Deansgate, at the Hilton end. I was at Albert's Shed in Castlefield last night, that's always good.
Bit more eclectic is The Market in the Northern Quarter, small & intimate, interesting food combinations.
Sam's Chop House & Mr Thomas's Chop House do what I suppose is called Modern British- and are great for drinks too.
New-ish Thai is Chaopraya (spelling?!).
Don't forget Chinatown- the classic is the Yang Sing. And the Curry mile in Rusholme- Sangam is good.
And for the best breakfasts and sandwiches, go to Katsouris on Deansgate- delicious and excellent value for a city centre. So happy we have the original one in Bury

The Abode is nice but not large portions, but saying that they do a room and meal deal. We went as a large group and the service was excellent.0

I can recommend whole heartedly Sapporo Teppanyaki especially the chocolate spring rolls and also Wings is beautiful chinese and Shimla Pinks for indian. However none of them are a "cheap night out" so to speak they are the places that we only visit on special occasions.
Manchester has loads to offer and china town and curry mile are fantastic value for money and I would hesitate to recommend people go there.0 -
If you want a reeaalllly nice restaurant, definitely go to Australasia on The Avenue at Spinningfields (just on Deansgate).
Can also heartily recommend Southern Eleven, also on The Avenue (head to Manchester Confidential for restaurant reviews and loads of offers)0 -
I'd go with Alpha and say Saporros. Also, try Aagrah, v good, although they're all over now, they came from Bradford.Married the lovely Mr P 28th April 2012. Little P born 29th Jan 20140
