    No, he actually asked if he can be let in and so I did, I had nothing to hide and thought that if I did'nt it would look more supicious.

    He came in looked around at all rooms and I had a feeling that he was look to see if there was other people occupying the place unallowed.

    Clearly not, but if you refuse entry then that might suggest you do have something to hide, and the matter may be pursued further. I think it is quite a good way to cross a lot of people off your list quickly.
