Benefits and working!!! Help please!!

I am about to go back to work, yay!!, but I am a bit stumped as to what I do now.

Background, currently getting HB, CTB and dh gets DLA, also have 2 children (school age).

I will be working 16 hours per week for 2 different employers, (8hours each) who will both be paying me on the books. Or what would happen if one of them decided to pay cash in hand as I want to delare it to HMRC.

I want to make sure i declare everything as I don't want to do anything illegal.

My other question is what do I do re CTB and HB and my maximum wage before stoppages will be £160.

Thanks for your help.

  • It shouldn't matter if you are paid cash in hand, the employer should still pay the relevant taxes for you. If they don't they are breaking the law. (unless your self employed that is)
