Please Help (Car Dealer Issues)

They have the paper work when the car was fixed for warn bushes etc therefore the case can still be argued as it was noted the time it was repaired from the date i bought the car.
Also since the bushes have been replaced the suspension then started to play up which i believe was a result of their not so good repair pratices. I forgot to mention that with my previous car (before they have given me a replacement), they had to take the car to another garage to try and fix one of the above issues.
Also all the wear and tear as described above is very hard to believe in a 3 year old car, they should not fall apart that quickly! I remember my old Mk2 Ibiza being more sturdy than my current car and that was a 15 year old car.
You may then have a case for the repairs not being carried out correctly on the bushes, i'd certainly go back to them on that point.
As for wear and tear, you'd be surprised! My 14 month old Audi S3 was rattling and creaking from about 6 months old and 5k miles, its the norm these days. You may find a dealer will try and put things right on a brand new car, but on a 3 year old car and given the state of the british roads and the harder suspension and lower profile tyres a lot of modern cars now have, cars develop squeaks and rattles a lot sooner than they used to.
If the headlamp is a manufacturing fault, have you spoken to the manufacturer? There may have been a recall issued. If not then not much anybody will do about that either i'm afraid apart from drilling a very small hold in the bottom of the light unit to allow the condensatin to clear. Try the Seat owners forums, you'll probably find there are topics on there regarding the issue if it's a common one.
As I said, at the end of the day, if these things weren't apparent when you picked the car up and they are actually wear and tear, which most are, then you won't have a leg to stand on i'm afraid.
The best advice I can offer is get yourself onto the Seat owners forums and get to know your car, they are very good places to get free help and advice from a huge pool of people that will know all about your specific car. You might find that these little niggles can be easily fixed yourself at a much cheaper cost than taking them into a garage.
Good luck!0 -
Ill go with the argument of them having done the repair and the suspension not being right after the repair should the letters yield no response.0

Well ive managed to get the dealership to look at the car, and they have only managed to replace a strut mount on the front of the car!

I've said back to them that the rear suspension is still crashy when going over speed bumps, but they just fobbed me off with 'In my opinion blah blah blah blah, so there is nothing else we can do'. I rang up Seat Customer Care and they recommend that i get the car booked in at a different dealership to have a look at, however, I need to pay the diagnostics charge for them to investigate the issue.
What can i do now? I really want to get rid of this horrid machine, and I might just VT it instead! (My contract states they can reposes the car without court if i have not payed 1/3 of payments just yet).0 -
Sounds like you bought one badly neglected car........
Wonder if maybe is was a courtesy/rental/staff car?“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Impossible as it has a metal tube through it.-After bushes was replaced, they overtightened the rear damper bolt causing an annoying sqeak on all road conditions
Sorry but I fail to see how they could have done this and how did you know that was the problem?-Radio antenna broke at the back of the head unit, and yes, they did not want to touch this as part of warrenty
I see that it is a Seat. Sounds like typical Spanish build quality to me. I'd never own one again. Had one years ago, sold it in weeks.0 -
No. The bolt is an axel that holds the shock in place and screws on to the rear axel of the car, and it is possible to overtighten this. This was a proven issue as the sqeak stopped when the bolt was adjusted to the correct torque.Impossible as it has a metal tube through it.
The previous owner could of removed the stock radio, and then placed it back in before selling back to the dealer, and in the process damage the aerial lead by forcing the original radio back in.Sorry but I fail to see how they could have done this and how did you know that was the problem?
I understand that you don't understand much about the VAG group.I see that it is a Seat. Sounds like typical Spanish build quality to me. I'd never own one again. Had one years ago, sold it in weeks.0 -

You can only VT the car once you have paid half of the total amount payable on the finance agreement, otherwise any default will result in your future credit rating being adversely affected.0 -
3 years old a lot of that will be wear and tear, Door noise and sqeaky seat and radio fault, Did you not notice those on the test drive?
Same with the terrible suspension, did you not notice that on the test drive?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

No the suspension was much better on test driving. Now it just feels like it has lost the damping as its very rough now. They won't however replace it under warranty as they can't 'replicate the fault'.
In other words they just fobbed me off because my warranty came to an end.0 -
Yeah. Sure. Dont take this personally but the last thing i want is people like you comming on with their 'i know best' attitude. All VAG group cars now are built pretty much to the same qaulity, probably because they meet all the same QA guidelines. And not forgetting that they all share very much the same parts.
You have personal experience of this ? Go on a factory tour at ingolstadt and then the same at, Martorell or Zona Franca and see the difference in the production lines.
And a 3 year old car could quite easily have the issues you've describe. No mention of mileage in the post ? And the factory backed extended warrenties specifically exclude wiring and some other parts. It's all in the warrenty detail pamphlet you get when buying the car.0
