Thanks for this. Can anyone tell me if coupons can be used at the self service checkouts? And, if so, when do you scan them.. at the end when you scan your Club Card? Thanks.0

I'm overloaded with cereal from the DTD days but WTH!This coupon does not state one per transaction so i would assume you can use quite a few.
It's interesting wording. It says only one coupon can be used "against each purchase". Now I would interpret that as one per box of cereal but I could see why a cashier might read that as one per transaction. It's not clear how they are defining purchase0 -
Yep they can be used on the self scan machines, you may need a SA to authorise it, they all seem to be differnt, one T's I visit lets you put only 1 coupon through before screaming for help, another 2 and another place I went to seemed to let you put endless coupons in! (Cant remember where though!)**** Itchin' for a glitchin' ****0

If you can't eat it or play with it ....... just pee on it and walk away.0 -
My coupons went through without buying them
Please please please don't do this. Most coupons will scan and deduct from your bill without any computer checks being done. By going to a manned till, the SA can check that you have bought the item. By scanning the coupon at a self-service till the onus is on you to be honest.
If people do this on a regular basis you'll find that companies such as Nestle will stop giving out coupons and stores like Tesco will remove self-service tills due to fraudulent coupon usage. It's one thing to use a coupon against a similar product (before anyone accuses me of being two-faced, yes I used Dove coupons against the wrong product) but to just use a coupon to get money off your bill is a different story.0 -
Has anyone seen the programme extreme couponing on real tv channel its about American extreme couponers going to the supermarket with their coupons and getting $2500 worth of groceries and they pay no money and get a $50 overpayment of coupons on a gift card! the supermarkets over there seem to accept more than one coupon for each product. I just find it soo difficult here when I have to use coupons its definitely not as acceptable here in Scotland. shrewdal btw thanks to op for the info0

The ss in T's only takes 2 vouchers per transaction before it calls the operator over. It also flags up for assistance when you use two of the same coupon. hth
Self Scan only allowed 1 coupon, flagged the second, no trouble with assistant though got 3 in total. None on the shelf in my store not even a space but I did spot a box on the top shelf to be put out.0 -

Did you just have the cereal coupons though? It does take two different coupons before wanting assistance. However, if you do two of the same coupon in one transaction it does flag this up.0
