SANTANDER new bank account issues

Afternoon
Thought I would add this should anyone be considering moving to Santander.
****BEWARE****
I opened an account in April 2011 with the intention of benefiting from the £100 you get by having 3 months of £1000+ going into your new account.
You also have to have 2 direct debits / standing orders set up and active during those uinitial three months.
I signed up and all seemed ok, The 'switch over team' contacted me saying they would move over all my DD and S/orders and also my salary.
I provided the details and waited...they did nothing. In June 2011 I was tired of waiting for them to do anything so I transfered all my dds etc and wages over myself and spoke to their team who blamed everyone else unders the sun except Santander and they confirmed that in 3 months I would get the £100.
I have chased this up today ( 12th September 2011) and they have just told me that when 'I' applied for the account I applied for the wrong account so I will not be getting the £100.
I was also told that because the DD and S/orders were not active within the first month of having the account then I would also not have been eligible for the £100.
I 'CALMLY' explained that there had been communication between myself and Santander throughout the whole time of having the account and that it was Santander who had mucked up the initial switchover process and asked why I was not told about any of this earlier.... They put me on hold.... for 25 mins without answering so I hung up.
Im closing my account this week as if this is how they deal with questions/complaints then I will go back to my old bank.
I cant be bothered to chase this up to try and resolve. I currently have house Insurance with them and my Mortgage... and I will be moving away from them asap so its their loss.
