dell computers finance problem

Hope this is the right section of the forum to ask this question.
I bought a dell laptop on 11 Sept last year on the "buy now pay in 12 months" offer. On 10 Sept this year I called Dell to pay for the computer, but was advised that I could not make a payment during a weekend as there was no facility to pay online at weekends. I advised them that my purchase date was 11 Sept and the operator said that would be no problem if I called back today on 12 Sept. I did this, but this time I was informed that my finance was with a company called creation and not direct with dell. I called creation today and they have charged me an additional £150 because I am a day late paying for the laptop. I tried to explain the previous conversation with the Dell operative, but I was clearly getting nowhere. Creation finance say they are open at weekends to make payments, but Dell did not give me that option when I called them on the Saturday
Do I have any argument, or is it a lost cause ?

Maybe a lost cause. As far as Creation are concerned, you didn't keep to the schedule. You should really have sorted this at least a week before as well, debit card payments can sometimes take 3 working days or so to process.
What number does your repayment finance documents have on it - the creation number or the Dell number ?0 -
surely you got paperwork when you purchased
so where/who does it say the payment is to made to?0 -

even if you contacted creation and paid on the due date by the time they received the payment you would be late.
Also i would assume you would have received a reminder invoice before the due date which would have given you the payment details and how and who to pay.
if you have store cards/credit cards when you get a statement to pay they will always state pay 4 days before the due date as it takes 3 days to be processed through the bank system. this is standard practice also with credit payments.0 -
thanks for your replies. I thought it was probably a long shot. my fault for leaving it so late (didnt keep my eye on the ball). just thought £150 was a bit excessive for being a few days late,
Thanks again anyway for your replies ..... A lesson learnt !0 -

its all or nothnig with these deals
as soon as you go past the 0% period they charge the interest for the full 0% period
I paid one off the other day
on a £150 purchase it would have been about £90 in interest!0 -

Nobody does nothing for nothing, I was with courts furniture, (now ceased trading) buy now, pay later deal and it was a ruse to send you their %% store-card.
You would automatically roll on to their monthly finance plan (underwritten by a finance co.) if you didn't pay the balance off within B.N.P.L time and as you say backdated INTEREST!!!
The shops couldn't afford to give you the stuff now without payment!!!

Update: creation have now refunded £135, so above the laptop base price, they have charged me just £10 which I am not going to argue about ! Thanks for your comments
But now another problem has arisen:
