East Leeds is much closer to the motorway, hence why it might be quicker.

At the wrong time of day it can take over half an hour to get from Pudsey to the M621 near Elland Road (last Thursday evening it took me 45 minutes)- about 5 miles. In half an hour you can have done 30 miles on M1/M62.

Havent read all replies but have a look along the skipton train line- off top of my head its shipley (some areas there to avoid) saltaire, bingley, crossflatts, keighley (again some to avoid) Steeton and silsden

All will put you about an hour and half in the car from Lpool and between 15 and half an hour on the train from leeds (15 from shipley and half an hour from Steeton & silsden)

let us know where you decide. Do you know where your wife is gonna be based?

Yeadon Guiseley Cookridge Horsforth Farsley Rawdon Calverley all very nice areas. Some more pricey than others but that happens wherever you go.

Its all about Roundhay... can recommend , lived there my whole life , apart from a year in Liverpool
