Hi all
I'm looking for a bit of info from an HBOS employee, or anyone else who may be in the know.
Can Halifax products be opened in a BOS branch?
Obviously with the separation of the Halifax and Bank of Scotland products over the weekend has resulted in 2 sets of products now being offered.
I am looking to open a Halifax children's Saver account, which can only be opened in branch. BOS no longer offer this. I reside in Scotland and there are no Halifax branches nearby.
Thanks in advance

Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right!

Halifax and BoS now have their own product ranges.
So the answer to your question is no.
You would have to go to a Halifax branch in England, Wales or Northern Ireland to open a Kids Regular Saver paying 6%.0 -

Today!
Seems they are separating the brands and offering completely different ranges, but ones that can still be serviced in both types of branch.
It shouldn't affect too many, as the vast majority of things can be applied for online, however, my children's saver is a branch only product, which is causing me problems living in Scotland.Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right!0 -
You can still surely phone up to open the account.0

Do they not accept postal applications for the account?
Maybe try phoning a Halifax branch, when I checked last night my branch had a local number available, and ask them if they would open it by post because of the distance you live away from a Halifax Branch.0
