can i connect desktop monitor to a tv

[FONT=&quot]i have a lcd monitor (with vga and dvi-d connectors) which is connected to the desktop via a vga cable, i would like to know would it be possible to connect the monitor to tv so can watch films etc that are playing on the monitor to the tv.

Can i use a div-d to hdmi cable, from the monitor to the TV, as someone has told me that wont work?

You need to connect the pc to the TV directly, not via the monitor.

my computer only has the one 15 pin connector, so does this mean it cant be done without constantly swapping vga wires?

You can get a DVI to VGA adapter from most places.

i dont have a dvi port on the computer im afraid, would a vga splitter work without quality loss?

Be aware, connecting the PC to a TV or monitor will not take the audio feed, this will need to be done with a seperate wire from the PC soundcard to the TV.

i will just use 5 metre vga to vga cable and see how that goes along with an audio lead something like this
