Cerazette. One for the Girls!

Could anyone on Cerazette please tell me whether they still get periods?

I've been on it for about 3 months, coming off Dianette, and I'm still getting periods, usually every 2 weeks. One coinsides with when i'd 'normally' have come on with the dianette, then 2 weeks later I'll come on again. The Doctor advised that it normally stops periods completely. No so, in my case anyway.

I'm a little over weight, which is why i was put on the mini pill. My other option is the coil, but my mum had an ectopic pregnancy whilst she had the coil, so it's put me off.

It's just a bit inconvienient cos i'm going on holiday a week on friday, and aside from the obvious, I get really bad cramps. :(

  • Different people will react differently - I have read of all extremes. Nothing at all, or almost constant bleeding, and all sorts in between!

I am on Micronor, and have carried on periods, although v light and a bit erratic, whereas someone else I know rarely has any bleed at all.

That's the problem with the progesterone only pills if you read about them. Non predicatable.

I kept getting periods until the 5-6 month mark and i was spotting even between then, my periods were lasting a long time. Just wait it out, i was gonna give up but you got to let your body adjust, 3 years on, no periods :)

I'll give it few more months and see what happens. It's made my skin blotchy as well :(

I have never used tampons, I tried, but can always 'feel' them. If i try again on holiday, can i go swimming? :o

If you can feel them they're either not in the right position or quite a big size, try a smaller absorbancy (lilets are giving freebies at the moment http://www.lil-lets.co.uk/en-GB/Products/Free-Samples )

I prefered non applicator as i found them more comfortable, do you use applicator?

And yes with tampons you can swim but it's ideal to change them after swimming :)

I've been on Cerazette for a fair few years now, and I have the odd bit of very very light breakthrough bleeding every now and again. By that I mean a panty liner can cope with it. It did take up to a year to get to this stage though IIRC.

    HTH.

I was on Cerezette for 2 years.

I had made enquiries about the implant and the doctor advised trying this pill first as women tend to have similar reactions with it as they would with the implant and it is alot simpler to stop taking the pills than remove the implant should it not agree with me.

I had two years of no periods which was great. Was only intending to be on it 3 to 6 months but was getting on with it so well it was 2 years before i got round to getting my implant fitted.

Great for me, but as the doctor told me (and others here have said) Each lady will react differently to it and there is no way of telling until you try it.
