I want to put £80.000 somewhere safe and take the interest monthly. Which account would you all suggest and how much can I expect back monthly. Thankyou

If you want to put it in a savings account, I would split it between at least two places so you get the benefit of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, which pays out a proportion of the money lost in the event of banks or building societies going bust. Which of course we hope that doesn't happen.
Interest rates have just gone up, so i would wait for a month to allow for all the variable rate accounts to go up if they are going to. Then see what are the best rates going.Indecision is the key to flexibility
