My husband and I are looking at going to Turkey (Antalya region) at the begining of Feb with our 15 month old son. We have been before but not at this time of year and are a little worrid that it may be a little cold and raining. We don't want it too hot for your son but warm enough for him to go on the beach for the first time.
Has anyone been to Turkey at this time of yearan dif so was the weather good? We would be grateful for any help.

Hi, I would not like to risk turkey at that time of the year, some of the resorts close for the winter and it is like a ghoast town. Marmaris and iclemar do definately as we were told this by the turkish people.
They did say Lara beach was warmer but it is very expensive there, and also hotel based, as there is nothing there.0 -
I really don't think it would be warm enough to swim in Turkey in February.
http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Travel-g297962-s208/Antalya:Turkey:Weather.And.When.To.Go.html would suggest that typical February temps in the Antalya region would be colder than it is here in the UK at the moment (it was 16 degrees here in the Midlands today).0 -
Have you thought about going in May?
We've been to Olu Deniz in May with my daughter when she was 1, 2 and 3! It was warm enough to swim and sunbathe but not too hot for a little one. Everything was open for tourists then too. Here I go again on my own....0 -
We regularly go to Turkey in summer months and have spoken to Brits who have property out there for holiday use.
It seems that few of them go in the winter months. The reason being that Turkish properties (especially holiday ones) are not insulated so, although air temperatures stay around 14-18 degrees in the winter, it feels much colder indoors than the figures suggest, compared with here. It then becomes difficult to get warm unless you have winter clothing with you.
Coupled with the weather also being damp, I would think that it could be pretty miserable at the time of year you are suggesting.0 -
We had a few days in Istanbul at the end of February. It was wet and cold, but Istanbul is such a magical place that the weather didn't really matter.
Then we flew to Antalya (Pegasus airlines), spending time there (Kaleici), then Side and Alanya.
We were pleasantly surprised. It never rained in two weeks, the daytime temperature was pleasantly warm and only a light sweater needed at night.
There were plenty of tourists during the day in Antalya, most were staying out in Lara Bay I imagine. We stayed in the old town (Kaleici), which is a lovely area.
Plenty of tourists in Side too, but not too many.
The scenery all along the Mediterranean coastline of Turkey is first class.0 -

what will you do around the area if its not warm and sunny enough to use the pools etc? have you been before, know whats around and open in February? can you get out and about easily from where the hotels are situated (I don't know that area at all, but thats what I'd be looking at if I was considering booking for low season
). 0 -
February is no the time to go to Turkey for a beach holiday. It can be cold and rainy and lots of places are closed as it is out of season. I lived in Turkey and February was never warm.
Best time if you don't want it too hot is May.0
