hi all i am new to this but am hoping someone will be in the same boat and have a answer for me .
me and my partner have just moved to devon and put in a claim for tax credits which took ages to come but we got it in the end,it turns out that it is back dated to when we put the claim in but when i received the letter from them it said .
potential payment £952.77 (which is the arreas owed)
which they will not pay as they cannot work out the exact amount until income and circumstances for the whole of the tax year 2011 12 are known.
we will then make a decision and a final payment will be paid.
this to me seems unfair as while we were waiting for money i had to get sevaral crisis loans to cover us while we were waiting which i am now paying back out of my benifits.
while they sit on the £900 they owe me until next year.
is this right and can i do anything about it
thanks steve
