Halifax Treasurers Account Missing

I have 3 current accounts (personal) and a treasurers account.
Since the upgrade, I can now only view the current accounts. I used to be able to 'view only' my treasurers account.
I cannot check balances on it via telephone banking either.
I have just called the helpdesk (savings) and was told that they can see my 3 current accounts but the reason I cannot see my treasurers anymore, or even check on it via telephone banking is that these types of accounts have been moved 'in branch only'
The lady on the helpdesk couldn't see the account either but assures me that the account will still be in full working order.
Not sure that this seems right...any ideas?

I have just logged onto my halifax online account and the same thing has happened to my treasurers account. It is not there but when I checked on Saturday it was there! I will be contacting the branch tomorrow but would be grateful if you could post any info you come across.
Thanks0 -

My wife is going to the branch this morning and I'll post an update as soon as I know.
Incidentially, I had the same. The account was there on Sat and Sunday then disappeared.0 -
The branch have located our Treasurers account.
When they looked it up on the new system, they could not find it. They then looked it up on the old system and found it immediately.
They confirmed that the account is still active but that there have been problems migrating Business Accounts and Savings Accounts from the old to the new system.
They advised that this should be corrected in the next day or two but that in the meantine, you still have access to your Treasurers Account via the old system in branch.
They also confirmed that the ability to view these accounts online or use telephone banking, no longer exists but went on to say that these features may come back at some point in the future.0 -
Just another of LBG's "improvements"
These accounts are now administered at an LBG office in Dunfermline, Scotland. If you're stymied in branch you might want to try quoting that.
I've asked three different LBG staffers, and so have received three conflicting statements. One is that you will still be able to get telephone support - if you are registered for telephone banking (6-digit number?) - for 30 days. The other two were variants on "branch only" from now on. All three statements included "but we wrote to you several times informing you in advance of these changes" Some things don't change, do they?
It took me over a year's campaigning to get Halifax to provide at least some on-line access to Treasurer's Accounts - so you can understand why I'm so hacked off!
When LBG flagged that this account would no longer be available to new customers I asked if they intended to alter or discontinue Treasurer's accounts. Their answers then were no and no. A month later we get this.
What a shame to see the good features of HBoS being steadily trashed by LBG. It must be very depressing for ex-Halifax staff - some of whom were both keen and capable.0 -
Older posters will recall the late city editor of the Daily Telegraph during the 1970's, Patrick Hutber.
He coined a phrase "improvement means detioration of service" and it became known as 'Hutber's Law'
He meant that any "improvement" grandly announced by some organisation for their customers is actually in reality a detioration in the service they used to provide before the improvement was made.
This thread seems to be an example of it.0 -
I think you may find that George Orwell pipped Hutber by a quarter of a century with the concept of "Doublethink", as propounded in his novel "Nineteen Eighty-Four".
The classic example of this has been the introduction by LBG of all the extra paperwork in branch - to improve "efficiency" as the LGB leaflet described it!
So it is not just that we will have to transact Treasury Accounts in branch, but that we will have to fill in form after pointless form (I make it 26 forms for a recent series of transactions I carried out on the telephone), too
Truly Orwellian!0 -
Just discovered this thread after a short search.
Same thing's happened to me - Treasurer's account disappeared last week. I have waited with patience because there was an error message saying "Sorry we're unable to display some of the acounts requested", but that has now disappeared, and the Treasurer's account hasn't re-appeared.
I've emailed their online help to find out how to get it back. Waiting for a reply.
I don't believe I have received any prior warning of this change, which I'm now interpretting from the comments on this thread are likely to be permanent?
I could go into the branch to find out I suppose. But I get all emotional looking at the staff having to hang their heads and apologise for all of TSB's "improvements" - such as the one that now means I have to fill in lots of little bits of paper whenever I pay money into an account!Optimists see a glass half full
Pessimists see a glass half empty
Engineers just see a glass twice the size it needed to be0 -
Spoke to a person with a Scottish accent:
1) Never bothered to write to anyone.
2) Have removed online access for Treasurers.
3) Call it 'branch only' access now.
As bad as England can be, Scotland is worse!0 -
Does anyone have any more information on what is happening with Halifax Treasurers Accounts?
I have come to the conclusion that they no longer want our business and are making it as difficult as possible for the accounts to be operated to make us all close the accounts down. The removal of the view only internet banking has made life very difficult for me as I have to visit a branch every time I need to check if any payments have been received.
I really need to open an account at another bank but am finding it impossible to find anywhere that provides a stand alone business deposit account that doesn't need a business current account with the same bank, which means a credit check which I would fail and is exactly why the Halifax Treasurers Account was ideal for me! I do just need a basic business account without a credit check but has internet banking.0
