Here is one for all you techie geeks ;)

My new laptop running Office Starter 2010 / Win7 Home Premium will not print any office files on my XP PC's networked printer. It will print from other programs fine, just not office. Other networked XP with Office 2003 / 2007 machines print fine. Office 2010 is now saying "unable to connect to printer" :(

Help please !!

    You might try

    1. From the Start Menu, go to the Office Starter 2010 folder
    2. Right-click on the shortcut for Word and left-click Properties
    3. Go to the Shortcut tab and click the Advanced button
    4. Make sure the Run as Administrator checkbox is checked

And the prize goes to giraffe69 ;)

Thankyou, worked. A pity the diagnostics could not come up with that simple answer.

 Worked a few times then stopped. Googled and found this http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/sharing-printers-between-windows-7-and-xp/4879c815-b48d-4e1f-a445-695200d4b8f3

Seems to be working ok now, installed as a new printer.
